Yin Yoga is a passive form of yoga in which the poses are held for longer periods of time in order to focus on the connective tissues of the body, creating greater flexibility in the spine, hips and legs. Join Certified Sundoor Firewalk Instructor Ryan Halas for a powerful night of activation, inspiration, and magical transformation. Ryan comes from North Carolina, and is traveling across the country again this year to bring firewalking back to Bend. Those of you who had the pleasure of walking with Ryan last year know that this will be a night to remember!

For this second firewalk ceremony held here in Bend, we will be gathering with joy, revisiting our desire to live lives of purpose and action in the world. This walk is for those who wish to live a life of spiritual activity, not the passive “spiritual bypass” that so many spiritual seekers find themselves trapped within. This walk will be a remembering of our individual purposes and a revitalizing of our energies. Please come and celebrate with us! It will certainly be a walk to remember.

Why does she walk on coals? Magic walks beside her and within her, and she passes unscathed. When he walks, who walks beside him? Is he holding hands with grace, is he so enveloped in the heart of spirit that fire cannot touch him?

We each walk on fire for our own reason, and yet inside the experience we find the same jewel- a burning ember, a heart of fire. We walk on coals because we want something that badly. There are things in life worth walking through fire for. For each person those things are different. The decision to attend the firewalk is just the beginning. What we ask for at the firewalk is a seed planted into the universe It will sprout, and in that sprouting change our whole lives. How it will manifest and in what time are two things that we can never know. That is the beauty of the process. That we make a request of fire and that golden ember changes everything.

Come celebrate International Yoga Month! We’re closing off Tin Pan Alley (off Minnesota St., downtown, between Thump and the Wine Shop) during Art Hop for Yoga Rally in the Alley.  Experience the free flow of Vasudeva– yoga to the rhythm & sound of live music. Play with hula hoops and Poi courtesy of Hoopdazzle and the Spinsterz! Sample delicious local raw chocolates by Jem Chocolates– “finding the jewel in the raw.” Dance to funky live tunes.
