Vinyasa (Flow)
Vinyasa is a fluid and dynamic Yoga class integrating and synchronizing breath with movement. Students ride the breath from one posture to the next creating a continuous and flowing experience. Vinyasa’s strength is in its diversity. There is no single philosophy, rulebook, or sequence that teachers must follow, allowing for a fun, challenging and sometimes unpredictable practice. This class celebrates movement and music plays a big part.
Anusara
Anusara® Yoga means stepping into the currents of grace, flowing with grace or following you heart. It is a playful practice exploring what is possible in each individuals body, mind and heart. Each class has a heart-oriented theme, which centers on cultivating a virtue-a quality of mind or heart, which is a microcosmic reflection of our Divine nature. It is an elegant system of yoga that unifies healthy biomechanical alignment principles called the Universal Principles of Alignment™ with a philosophy of intrinsic goodness and a strong focus of living your yoga on an off the mat in ways that create harmony.
Ashtanga
A flowing Vinyasa style of Yoga focused on the breath and a sequence of postures that brings about clarity of mind, healthy body and turning “within” to the heart. The form is active and heat is generated internally through postures, breath and Bandhas or inner-core emphasis. This heat creates a therapuetic effect that cleanses the system and allows focus and grace of movement to evolve. Class is vigorous but open to all-levels of Yoga experience, with individual path’s honored.
Creative Flow
This Vinyasa class is a dynamic and challenging practice creatively integrating several styles of Yoga (powerful, focused) Ashtanga, (liberating) Jivamukti, (challenging) Power Vinyasa, (heart-opening) Anusara and occasionally the heat of Bikram, unifying body and breath. This class celebrates organic and creative movement within the safe boundaries of energetic alignment and kriya sequences. It is a dynamic, vigorous and challenging class with a playful and soul enriching spirit. No two classes are the same and we practice to creative playlists.

If feeling stagnant in your yoga practice, this is an opportunity to break through the mold of old habitual patterns, and enjoy the evolution of your body through rhythm.”

Community Kirtan w/Phil Hamilton, Julie Southwell & Friends
The Philosophy of Kirtan | What is kirtan?
“Mantras quiet the mind, and music frees the heart. The intention of kirtan is consciousness-transformative, directing the singers to vanish into the song as drops merge into the ocean. The musicians and the crowd coalesce in a cloud of intelligence, turning together like a flock of birds, until the song itself vanishes into the skies of silence.”
“Kirtan (from the Sanskrit word for singing) is easily learned and instantly memorable. The form is simple: a lead group calls out the melodies and the crowd responds. The mantras are projected overhead, making them simple to follow.
Sanskrit is the mother tongue of many modern languages, and a kind of periodic table of elemental sound-meaning. The mantras are primarily recitations of names given to the divine. But perhaps the true understanding of the mantras can be found in the sense of unity, well-being and timelessness that they elicit. Ecstasy is both the process and the product.” -Dave Stringer
“Listen friend, this body is his instrument. He draws the strings tight, and out of it comes the music of the universe.”- Kabir Donations will go to support our community.
MYC Women’s Circle
The MYC Women’s circle is a bi-monthly meeting time for renewing mind, body, and spirit in a positive and sacred space with other women who value spiritual, emotional, and intellectual growth. The focus of our group is on becoming a collective presence for the empowerment of all the women participants and growing our uniquely divine gifts and talents. We will engage in creating a nurturing communal spirit which allows for creativity, spontaneity, sharing and witnessing. Although goals and outcomes will be unique and varied some of the intentions of the circle are to bring about multi-dimensional healing, the opportunity to practice compassionate loving kindness, and enrichment of the mind and spirit of all those who participate. All that is asked in return is a willingness to be vulnerable and openness to progressive change. The circle will be created by dedicated participants who will form the identity and monthly focus of the group. The group will be loosely facilitated by Tara Sobrio and Chris Howell who will combine their training and expertise in the movement, counseling and healing arts and conduct small group exercises and assignments to enhance the quality and integrity of the group. The circle will likely include meditation, movement, laughter, tears, love, hope, support, freedom, understanding, passionate discussions and the satisfaction that comes with learning and growing with each other. We look forward to you being part of this exploration into the strength of the divine feminine and the joy of finding oneself right smack dab in the middle of it!
